Clara Anderson (1879-1986)
AMBROSE - Clara
Anderson, 106, oldest living resident of Divide County, died
Thursday at a Crosby hospital. Her funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30
am. at Ambrose Lutheran Church, with burial in Ambrose Cemetery.
She was born Dec.
11, 1879, in Wabasha County, Minn., a daughter of Michel and
Nicolina Oleson, and later moved with her family to Montevideo,
Minn., where she was reared.
She married Ole
Anderson at her parents' home at Montevideo Nov. 25, 1903. In 1907
they moved to Divide County near Ambrose. They lived and farmed
there until moving to Ambrose in 1955. He died in December of that
year. Since 1978, she had lived at the Good Samaritan Center in
Crosby.
Survivors:
daughters, Burnie Madsen, Westby, Mont., Nell Harris, Westpoint,
Calif.; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; brother,
Albert, Vergas, Minn. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m.
and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Stakston-Martin Funeral Home,
Crosby.
