Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where is Ambrose? (From Alison R. formerly of
Olga, ND)
Ambrose is in the northwest corner of
North Dakota, three miles south of the Canadian border and twenty-six miles east of
Montana.
2.
Have you ever thought of setting up a guestbook? (From Carrol D.
and Shirlee L.)
No, not really.
However, there is a very nice guestbook at
http://guestbook.crosbynd.com/.
I think our Crosby neighbors would be happy to share it with us Ambrose
folks. Actually, I think many visitors who would be interested in
reading the Crosby guestbook might also be interested in reading posts
from Ambrose people.
One word of caution: When signing in on any Internet guestbook,
do not provide your email address. This is a sure way
to invite spam. Instead, just include a sentence like this in the
guestbook comment area: "My email address is billsmith =at= hotmail.com."
3. Many of
the pages say (Edited for content). What exactly does that mean?
Content for
AmbroseND.com comes from a variety of authors and sources - some well
written, and some not so well written. Remember that much of the
writing was done on
typewriters
without the benefit of a
spellchecker, grammar checker, or even an online thesaurus.
Therefore, some correcting, reorganizing and rewriting was necessary to
make the text understandable and your visit more enjoyable.
Every effort has been made to remain factual, and to preserve the
thoughts, if not the exact words, spelling, and punctuation, of the
original writer. A great deal of effort has been made to ensure
that proper names of people and places are spelled correctly.
4. Recently
you added my name to the "I'll be there" list. Would you add my
e-mail address just in case any old friends might like to contact me?
Thanks, and see you in July.
(From ChuckTQ
=at= aol.com)
Glad to - however,
read the word of caution in item 2 above. Disguising your email
address keeps the spammer's webcrawler from harvesting it and adding
you to their mailing lists.
