Camping and RV Parking

Rud Anderson Park in Ambrose - This is a very small park with no RV spaces and only an electric box with several outlets.  It's a pleasant spot to camp, on the road next to the park, but only the 3 or 4 earliest arrivals will find space here.

Divide County Fairgrounds in Crosby - Five sites with water and electric hookups and about 25 sites with electricity only. Electric service sites vary from 15 to 50 amp. Self-contained campers and tents may set up anywhere in the camping area. A bathroom with showers and a dump facility are on the grounds. All sites are free. The Fairgrounds did not fill up during the 2004 Crosby Centennial, so finding a space here should not be a problem.

Pioneer Village in Crosby -  Water and electric hookups only.  Electric service sites vary from 15 to 50 amp.  Also did not fill up during the Crosby Centennial, so spaces should be available; however, all campers must vacate by July 15 as Threshing Bee work crews begin arriving.  Fee is $10 per night, payable to Divide County Historical Society.  Call Art Nelson or Donna Haslett-Nelson at 965-5500 on arrival to arrange for payment pickup.

Lake Skjermo - 25 miles west of Ambrose in Fortuna area.  Hookups and number of spaces unknown but very limited.

Additional Camping Tips:  We invite you to park your RV or pitch your tent on any vacant lot in Ambrose if you can be completely self-contained.  Ambrose does not have running water and the city well does not have facilities for filling RV water tanks.  Ambrose water is fine for showers, dishes etc. but not for drinking or cooking.  If you dry camp here, we highly recommend that you fill your water tank and obtain a supply of bottled drinking water before arrival.  Both are available in Crosby, 11 miles east.  Crosby also has the only RV dump facility in the area.  If you have concerns about where to camp in Ambrose or any other camping questions, contact Art Nelson or Donna Haslett-Nelson at 965-5500.  Or just ask around in Ambrose and our friendly locals will be glad to help!

Important note:  The only RV dump facility is at the Divide County Fairgrounds in Crosby.
