Square Patch Quilt
This “scrappy” blanket quilt was
made by my grandmother, Minnie V. Miller, in the 1920’s. Each of
her three boys; George, Harry and Gordon (my dad) had one. I
was told that they were used as blankets when they slept outside on
cots during the summer.
In the 1990s Harry identified some of the material that the quilts
were made from - a part of his father’s wedding trousers were in
each one of the quilts that Minnie made.
Harry H. Miller and Minnie V. Anderson were married in 1909 and
moved into the “Miller house” in 1910. George was born in 1912,
Harry in 1916 and Gordon in 1921. |
