Family History - Ronello M. & Acena Davis

One hundred years ago, in the spring of 1906, Ronello M. Davis, his wife Acena, and two children – Ronello Jr. and Mabel – arrived in the Ambrose area.  They lived and worked in the new city until homesteading in Twin Butte township.  The homestead was proved up in March of 1913 and the Davis farm is still in the Davis family.

Ronello Davis retired from the farm and moved into Ambrose where he lived and worked at various places and jobs, including being Mayor.

Mabel lived in Twin Butte Township and the Ambrose area where she raised her two children, Lloyd Nelson and James Christianson.  Lloyd passed away in Michigan in 1994.  James married Adeline Ness and they still live in the Crosby area and have just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Ronello M. Davis Jr. married Edith Lahlum in November 1917 and six children were born to their union:

Florence Edith
Lorna Dell
R. Melzar III
Lucille Ardis
Donald Duane
Richard Erling

Donald died as a small child and Lorna died in 1998.  She was married to Norman Nelson and lived in Madison, Wisconsin where her one daughter also lives.  Florence married Carl Raap and they lived and worked in the Bremerton/Tacoma, Washington area where they raised their four children.  Melzar married Marilyn Myrah and they lived and worked in many places in the United States and raised their two children.  Lucille married Eddie China and they lived and raised their four children in the Belleville, Illinois area.  Richard married Stella Melgaard and they lived and worked and raised their two children in Bremerton, Washington.
