U. S. Post Office

The building on Main Street in Ambrose that is now the Post Office was formerly a country school house that stood a few miles south west of Ambrose, known as the Grant school. It was moved into Ambrose in the early 1950's and fixed up for a post office. The building is owned by Mrs. Harriet Selle who served as Postmaster for twenty years and retired on July 1st, 1972. Mrs. Emma Haugenoe who served as clerk for Mrs. Selle for three years was appointed Officer In Charge and is now acting Postmaster.

Ronald L. Hanson has been a rural mail carrier out of Ambrose for twenty-three years. Ole Severson served the rural area ahead of Hanson for many years.
