Photos from the collection of Giny Miller Roundy
"These pictures were taken
this spring. Harry [Miller] and Archie [Shaw] were out in the
country and caught a young coyote - it had a chain around its neck.
George [Miller] kept it for about a week when Mr. Seiss's little girl
came to claim it. It had broken away from her. She has it
yet, I believe. It got very tame so George could play with it and
tumble it around."
"The pictures were taken by
Archie's barn. Note the tent Stella [Shaw] fixed for the
youngsters to play in."

New information from Jean
Shaw Bryan: "Although Archie Shaw helped catch the coyote, the
boy is Jim Shaw. The little girl is Gladys "Rusty" Shaw.
The bigger girl was the coyote's owner." |
