The house just left of center was owned by the Restvedt family and was later moved to Crosby by the Torkelsons.  In the center background is School No. 1 built in 1908 where the Community Hospital now stands.  On the right are the two Miller homes pictured above.

Home of David C. Sutherland and Milton Olson

This home has been sold by Milt Olson to his cousin Larry Olson.  In July of 2003, Milt found this note at the house:

Hello Mr. Olson,

I'm the granddaughter of D. C. Sutherland, the man who built this house.  Both my father and his sister were born in it, 1920 and 1914 respectively.  I hope you like the photos of the house, built in 1909.  Dave had a dray business in Ambrose and farmed around Fortuna.  The family left in 1924.  I knew I had the right place by the concrete (stone?) block near the sidewalk.  I think even the bushes are original.  Thanks for caring for it.
